What makes Aquaphor filters special?

Aquaphor fibre composite

pitcher cartridges and carbon

blocks outperform state-of-the-

art water purifiers including

German-made pitcher cartridges

and USA-made activated carbon

blocks. Aquaphor filters remove

organics, heavy metals, rust,

turbidity and chlorine.

The main reasons for

performance are:
  • Aquaphor composite filters comprise a matrix of the high quality coconut shell activated carbon particles. The carbon particle sizes vary from 300 microns for pitcher cartridges to 500 nanometres for the carbon blocks. The activated carbon particle sizes are much smaller than the activated carbon used in the competing filers. As a result, Aquaphor filters have smaller effective pore sizes.
  • Aquaphor composite pitcher and carbon block filters contain Aqualen® activated hydrophilic ion-exchange microfibres. Aqualen® fibres are distributed throughout the volume of the filter cartridge. Fibre diameter is an order of magnitude smaller than a human hair. Aqualen® has a tremendous outer surface area. Due to the hydrophilic surface of the Aqualen® fibres water flows uniformly and easily through the cartridges with very small-sized pores. Aqualen® fibres have a large concentration of amphoteric, chelating ion-exchange groups. These groups irreversibly of heavy metal ions both from soft and hard water.
  • Aquaphor filter cartridges contain imbedded submicron-sized Ag crystals which provide strong bactericidal properties with negligible leakage of silver into purified water.

Aquaphor filters are protected by 23 Russian, and 7 US patents, among others.
