Aquaphor Crystal-Osmo is a reverse osmosis (RO) system, designed for purifying and softening hard tap water. First tap water goes through composite carbon block cartridges. Carbon block cartridges remove impurities (e.g., rust, active chlorine, turbidity, organics, bacteria) which can either pass through the RO membrane or sediment on its surface and plug it up. The RO membrane rejects remaining bacteria, viruses, salts, particles and organic molecules.

Aquaphor RO system is recommended for purifying and softening tap water with the hardness of at least 3-4 meg/L. Up to 10-20% of healthy calcium and magnesium pass through the RO membrane with filtered water. Minimally recommended level of calcium and magnesium ions in drinking water is 0,5 meg/L (up to 4 meg/L).

Filtered through the RO membrane water is collected in the steel rubberized purified water tank. On demand water flows from the water tank through the 1 micron cut off carbon block cartridge to the pure water faucet. The last stage carbon block filter removes unpleasant taste, odour and bacteria from water stored over long periods in the rubberized tank.

Simple, compact, user friendly RO system comprises a novel compact shut-off/check valve/flow restrictor combination built inside the compact framework. Ease of changing all cartridges including the RO, simplicity of the design and reliability of all components insures long term, trouble free operation.
